INGREDIENTS

Spicy Bush Basil Turkey:

  • 2 Tablespoons of cooking oil 
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 red onion (minced)
  • 2–3 red chilis (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce (or more to taste)
  • 1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 cup lightly packed basil
  • 1-2 tsp. Asian chili paste (Sambal Olek)

 

Lettuce Wraps & Toppings:

  • 2 heads butter lettuce (separated)
  • 1 cup mung bean sprouts
  • 1 cucumber (halved and thinly sliced)
  • 1 mango (peeled and sliced) 
  • 2-4 chives (chopped)
  • 1 lemon (sliced)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare all the toppings and lettuce wraps and set them aside
  2. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat
  3. Add cooking oil and ground turkey
  4. When the turkey is no longer pink, add garlic and onion
  5. Continue to cook until the onion is softened
  6. Add chilis, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili paste
  7. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute
  8. Remove pan from heat and add basil
  9. Assemble wraps and serve!
